Gulf Islands Film Co-op

The Gulf Islands Film Co-op was created by David Ohnona and Rutger Kamphuis to support filmmakers from the Southern Gulf Islands by providing accessible filmmaking equipment and mentorship. Both David and Rutger have been an instrumental part of programs and events around filmmaking run by Ptarmigan Arts.

The objective is to assist filmmakers with a peer-to-peer collective, where discussions about specific projects will lead to production and dissemination of those films and
videos. And, hopefully, to provide access to equipment in a catalogued and shareable forum. For now, it will consist of regular meetings to get filmmakers together!

Film Co-op Meetings

The inaugural GIFC meeting will be at 7pm on April 11, 2024 at the Ptarmigan Office.
Join us at the First Ever gathering of the Gulf Islands Film Co-op! Here's a chance to meet with fellow filmmakers, discuss your specific project, and how the Co-op can help with the production and dissemination of your film and/or video.
