Summer Arts Intern 2025

Job Description

The Arts Intern will assist Ptarmigan staff with a wide variety of arts education and community outreach arts projects during the period July 8- August 30, 2025. Projects include:

  • Summer Arts Workshops and Camps: assisting Ptarmigan staff and facilitators with all aspects of running summer day camps for children 6-14;

  • Mosaic Arts Festival: assisting Ptarmigan staff, volunteers and facilitators with organizing this summer arts and culture festival held in August 2025, and being on site during the festival to assist with coordination and delivery;

  • Art Events: assisting with setting up and running various summer arts workshops, art shows, arts events and art studio tours;

  • Organizational operations: helping with office administration and program tasks such as fielding phone calls, updating the website and artist guide, maintaining files and databases, creating engaging social media content, taking photographs of Ptarmigan programs, and providing community members with arts-related information and resources to help with their artistic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 15-30 years old*

  • Legally able to work in Canada

  • Enthusiastic, positive, hard -working and self- motivated

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Good verbal and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in and/ or passion for the arts and arts education;

  • Experience in and/ or eagerness to learn about working in a non- profit setting

  • Experience with volunteer coordination and engagement as asset

  • Intent to study or work in an arts related discipline is an asset.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, Canva and Square POS software an asset

  • A valid BC drivers license is an asset

This is a part time position, 30 hours a week, and pays $18/hr. Some flexibility of hours worked is required. This position is funding dependent.
