Community Soul Singalongs via C.A.R.E. (Community Arts for Resilience and Engagement)

We have partnered with musician and facilitator Fiona Stuart to provide singalongs in conjunction with various organizations in the Greater Victoria region. Fiona has curated various different songbooks; one in English and one in French and three inclusive holiday-based songbooks to meet the needs of diverse partner organizations. The songbooks are a growing/living project updated yearly based on the song requests of participants.

The singalongs are tailored for each community group and can include melody, harmony and round exploration in tandem with dance and hand-held instruments. These sing- and jam-along sessions have been very effective at providing a sense of community, increased confidence, memory care for older adults with cognitive issues, language skills, and more. This is a free program that we offer to community stakeholders thanks to generous funding from the New Horizons for Seniors program and the Victoria Foundation.
